In Memory of Simon Murray
It is with profound sadness that we share the news of the passing of our Head of School, Simon Murray, who died on May 19th 2026.
Simon dedicated more than 35 years of his life to international education and school leadership. Throughout his career, he served communities across Europe and most recently in Tanzania with intelligence, vision, compassion, and deep integrity. Since joining Black Rhino Academy, he brought thoughtful leadership, a strong belief in the potential of young people, and a deep commitment to the growth and future of our school.
Many within our community will remember Simon not only as a leader, but as a teacher at heart. He believed deeply that education should challenge students to think critically, act responsibly, and engage meaningfully with the world around them. He cared greatly about student wellbeing, academic excellence, and creating a school culture grounded in curiosity, kindness, and purpose.
As a community, we mourn Simon’s loss and extend our deepest condolences to his wife, children, family, and all those who knew and loved him.
We will share further information with the community in due course regarding opportunities to remember and honour Simon’s life and contribution to Black Rhino Academy.
